Mediterranean Cruise Vacations
The Mediterranean is best suited for cruising as it has a wonderful climate and rich with history and culture. The improvement in its rank (from tenth to fourth) would speak for itself and tell you how attractive the destination is to the tourists. There are a number of cruise line operators offering cruising packages in this route but the largest of them all is the Royal Olympic. Piraeus in Athens, Silver Whisper, Cadiz, Valleta, Palma de Mallorco and Lisbon are the hot spots in Mediterranean which should be visited. Riding on a yacht would be the best way to see the Mediterranean and across to Cote D’Azur or French Riviera. If you visit Mediterranean during May, you would also be able to enjoy the film festival organized in Cannes. This is one of the most famous and celebrated film festival for which every actor of the Hollywood makes sure that he / she is present. But getting entrance tickets for the party would be a tricky part. You can also enjoy visiting various boutique shops in the city and moving around the sea side villages at Villefranche. St. Jean Cap Ferrat is one of the famous spots which have rows of fine restaurants where you can enjoy good food with a view of the beautiful sea bays.
Other famous destinations of the Mediterranean which can be visited are Casablanca, Cyprus, Barcelona, Corsica, Lisbon, Malta, Gibraltar and Sicily. Egypt and the Red Sea can be well enjoyed during winter. One should really experience diving and snorkeling to enjoy the beauty of coral reefs during this season. The Mediterranean grows a lot of dry fruits like dates, figs, grapes, carob and almonds. These as well form a good resource of income for the nation and are sold in the basins.
